From Burford, we travel through enchanting countryside to Bourton-on-the-Water, affectionately known as the “Venice of the Cotswolds.” Low stone bridges cross the gently flowing River Windrush, and the village is regularly voted one of the prettiest in England. There is time to explore, browse charming shops, and enjoy the peaceful riverside setting.

Lower Slaughter – Romance & Tranquillity

Next, we visit the idyllic village of Lower Slaughter. Set beside a gentle stream and surrounded by rolling countryside, it is often described as one of the most romantic villages in the Northern Cotswolds. Its timeless beauty feels almost untouched by modern life.

Stow-on-the-Wold – Market Town Charm

We then continue to Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds. Wander among honey-coloured buildings, cosy pubs, independent shops, and inviting tea rooms. This is also where we pause for lunch in one of the town’s welcoming pubs or cafés.

Blenheim Palace – Grandeur & History

After lunch, we travel to the spectacular Blenheim Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Winston Churchill.

You will spend approximately 2–3 hours exploring the palace’s grand State Rooms, admiring priceless artworks and baroque architecture, and wandering through over 2,000 acres of landscaped parkland. Whether you are drawn to its history, its gardens, or its sweeping lakeside views, Blenheim is an unforgettable highlight.

Return to Oxford

In the late afternoon, we drive you back to Oxford, arriving after a beautifully balanced day combining Cotswold charm with aristocratic splendour.
